Activities and Attractions – Adventure Forests
The Eagles Eyrie and Maydena Adventure Hub
Forestry Tasmania have completed the construction of a lookout on the outskirts of Maydena at the top of Abbot’s Peak.
The incredible lookout has a 360 degree range taking in the forests, World Heritage area and sights as far away as Strahan – over 100 km to the west.
The look out which is a magnificent building, is known as the Eagles Eyrie.
Visitors access the lookout from the comfort of a 4 wheel drive vehicle which journeys up the mountain through the forests to the top. A journey well worth taking!
Activities such as archery, mountain biking, bushwalking, caving, abseiling, trout-fishing, rail-riding and a range of other outdoor activities are on offer.

FISHING
The area is well known for it’s wonderful trout rivers. To ensure full enjoyment, you will need an experienced and knowledgeable guide to show you where to find the best fishing spots. If you are a novice, he can teach you how to fish too!
